2 new feature requests -- your thoughts

I was thinking about adding custom variables to object definitions in 
2.0, but am going to hold off til 3.0 before implementing this.  
Custom vars will probably start with an underscore (or something 
similar) to stay consistent with the way the rest of the directives 
are defined.
